Here's how the weekend is shaping up. Full timing will follow with your formal invitation.
Plan to check in to your hotel Thursday afternoon — we'll gather that evening for a rehearsal dinner offsite at a nearby restaurant. With golf and the welcome party filling Friday, Thursday is the natural day to arrive and settle in.
A relaxed round at the bucket-list Banff Springs mountain course along the Bow River with 360-degree mountain views. Early morning tee times, with greens fees subsidized for our golfers — RSVP to confirm interest and lock in a spot. The evening welcome party follows at the Fairmont Rundle Bar, 7–10pm.
The day we've been building toward. The ceremony will be held outdoors overlooking the golf course, followed by cocktail hour and reception at the Clubhouse. Full timing and dress code will follow with your formal invitation.
A guided premium cruise on Banff's largest lake, with the mountains sliding by as we toast the weekend before everyone heads home (or extends their trip — which we wholly encourage). Details on timing and sign-up coming soon.

The nearest major airport is Calgary International (YYC), roughly 1.5 hours from Banff by car or shuttle. If you're not renting a car, the Banff Airporter shuttle runs directly between YYC and Banff and is a convenient, easy option. A car isn't necessary for the wedding weekend itself — but if you'd like to explore nearby towns like Lake Louise, Jasper, or Canmore (personally our favorite places to explore!), a rental is worth considering.

Turquoise water against glacier peaks — one of the most photographed spots in the Rockies, and one of ours too. Worth an early start to beat the crowds.
A quieter mountain town with great restaurants and easy trailheads. A relaxed alternative if Banff feels busy, and a favorite of ours for a low-key evening.
The drive up the Icefields Parkway is one of the most scenic in the world. If you have extra days, Jasper is well worth the trip.

Hansika and I met as colleagues on ABB's Energy & Solar team, and our Mario Bros. characters Halloween costume win was just the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Since then, we've filled our years with hikes, endless laughter, deep conversations, love, and unforgettable meals. Fun fact: I can ride a unicycle—proof that even when life gets wobbly, I know how to stay balanced.
I met Hansika in Madrid while studying abroad—I just had to know the girl who'd been pickpocketed three times. She quickly became my travel partner and one of my favorite people. Best memory: waking her at 2 a.m. on Halloween senior year after a vodka-fueled rampage, something she still hasn't forgotten. I do Ironmans for fun—swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112, then running a marathon. My karaoke go-to is Don't Stop Believin'—a Chucks [college bar] favorite!
We met at Syracuse University (Go Orange 🍊), but our friendship truly blossomed during our study abroad semester in Spain— I'll always feel lucky to have found such a wonderful friend. We bonded over our shared love of One Direction (she's Team Zayn, I'm Team Liam - RIP). Fun fact: I'm clumsy as a puppy that hasn't grown into its paws, so this year I took up adult ballet. My karaoke go-tos: "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" and "I Want It That Way" —crowd participation required!
I met Hansika freshman year at 'Cuse, where I may have accidentally gotten her 'toasted' for the first time. Core memory: our Big Sur trip...Hansika had just moved to Cali, got her driver's license, and I had no idea what I was in for—normally a calm and balanced friend... she drove 90 mph and lived to terrorize drivers too slow for Carmel's winding roads. Runner-up: Yosemite, about midway she admitted she'd forgotten her glasses and couldn't read the signs 😬😬. Great trip. Almost died for a second time there. About me: I love being behind the lens, capturing beautiful moments. My Karaoke go-to: "I Wanna Dance with Somebody."
I met Hansika at our first job at Associated Renewable in NYC, where our friendship quickly evolved from coworkers to partying at Dream Hotel and surviving on 1 a.m. Two Bros pizza. Years later, I've traded late nights for morning tennis and hiking, but I'm still always down for a good time. So excited to celebrate Hansika and stand by her side on her big day!
I met Hansika through my husband, Jacob, who is one of her best friends—so I got the bestie stamp of approval early on. Core memory: seeing Zayn perform in Vegas and making her wait in line with hundreds of other girls just to snag some <3 Zayn <3 merch. Fun factoid: I was living in Madrid when Spain won the 2010 World Cup—an unforgettable night. My karaoke go-to: Destiny's Child's "Bootylicious."
Ride-or-die homies since the '90s, Tom and Matt go way back—dominating Little League together, cruising through high school and college on pure academic swagger, and spending a decade as roommates before a joint westward migration to the Golden State. Through the highest highs and the lowest lows, one thing's stayed constant: Matt's never letting Tom live any of it down.
Tom's brother, and oldest of three siblings, David loves riding his tandem bicycle with his wife, Janelle, and pointing out buildings around town where he personally installed the glass—he runs the family glazing business. He's a devoted coach for his kids' sports teams and a passionate animal lover, having made a hobby out of rehabilitating injured wildlife. His favorite memory with Tom and Hansi will be made at their wedding.
Brother of the bride: I met Tom when he visited our family in India and we road tripped to the Taj Mahal, including our Boxer pup, Shelby. Nothing subtle about welcoming a man to the world's most famous monument dedicated to love :P About me: I founded a company that creates films with AI and I follow motorsports with unhealthy commitment. Karaoke go-to: "Home Sweet Home" by Mötley Crüe.
I met Tom through a mutual friend junior year at Akron University—Sumner House for life! Tom and the Tallmadge crew quickly became family, a home away from home. We bond over cult classics like Tropic Thunder and The Big Lebowski, and to this day we still communicate almost entirely in movie quotes. Congrats to Tom and Hansi from our whole family—Kat, Luke, and Lucy!
Brian and Tom go back to their teenage years in Tallmadge, Ohio, where they became fast friends. As college roommates, Brian championed Tom's education with sage advice like "just drop out" any time homework got him down. They've since shared plenty of adventures, from boat trips on Lake Erie to hiking Yosemite. Now a licensed boat captain, Brian runs tours out of South Carolina.
Matthew and Tom met on Matthew's very first day at the engineering firm—deskmates for years, and fast friends before lunch. Happy hours, concerts, and countless rounds of golf followed, though Matthew maintains his coaching was mostly damage control: Tom's swing needed serious work. Lucky timing, really.
Isadora loves hugging and going swimming with her Uncle Tom. She loves school and making new friends wherever she goes—and is already a talented dancer in ballet. When she grows up, she wants to be an artist.
Our 2-year-old German Shepherd mix, Kona, is filling her duties from afar. While she won’t be at the wedding, our “sweet psycho” is busy enjoying time with her fur-mates at the dogsitter and taking her role as Director of Fetch seriously—paw-ticularly at the park.
Elijah loves staying at Aunt Hansi and Uncle Tom's house, and his favorite memory with them is playing golf together in California. Baseball is his favorite sport, and when he's not on the field, he's happily lost in a Harry Potter book.
Desmond loves wrestling with Uncle Tom—fitting, since wrestling is also his favorite sport. He's fascinated by ocean animals, and one of his favorite memories with Uncle Tom and Aunt Hansi is exploring the beaches together in California.
Formal attire, mountain-ready. Think cocktail or black-tie-optional, with a layer on hand for cooler evening temperatures at altitude. Full dress code details will follow with the formal invitation.
We're keeping our invitation list to kids whose parents are part of the wedding party. That said, we'd love for families to turn the trip into a Banff vacation! For wedding events themselves, here are two options to consider:

We'll have shuttle service from select Banff/Canmore hotels to the venue — share your hotel info via our WithJoy RSVP page below to help us plan routes. The Fairmont's own shuttle also runs between the main hotel and Clubhouse until 12am.
The Fairmont only reserves 10–15 parking spaces for our group at the Clubhouse, so parking will be limited. We strongly encourage guests to take advantage of our wedding shuttle — routes and schedule TBD. If you absolutely need to drive yourself there, let us know and we'll reserve a spot.
